Mackinac Island itself does not require a ticket, just the ferry boat ride over to it. Shepler's Ferry has a ferry dock on both sides of Mackinac Bridge so you would not have to cross over Big Mac if you didn't want to. Are you talking two DCC (Digital Command Control) Trains running on two parallel main tracks in a rough oval shape with a cross-over or two ?? DCC permits you to run the two trains at the same time without different power-blocks. Also DCC is AC power based, so you won't have problems with polarity as you cross over.
